Home Building Sites - Amherst

Pioneer Valley Habitat is building a total of four single family homes on Stanley Street in Amherst.  The land was donated by Amherst College and Amherst students are active on the building crews, supplemented by other PVH construction volunteers.  The homes are designed by Kuhn Riddle Architects for great energy efficiency, which helps keep them sustainable for low-income homeowners.

Third Stanley Street home

The third home is now framed and enclosed, echoing the design of the first two homes.  Work will continue on the interior through the winter.  The partner family is working on their "sweat equity" by participating in the construction, working side-by-side with college crews and other volunteers.
